Nearly 500 MNS workers led by Aparna Narvekar quit the party and joined Sena in the presence of its executive president Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday in Borivili.

Narvekar was the  runner-up, on an MNS ticket, in the last civic election from Borivili ward no 13. Soon after his induction into the party, Uddhav announced a party ticket to Narvekar for the civic bypolls scheduled for October 7.

Narvekar, considered as a winning candidate, had fought on an MNS ticket and lost it by a narrow margin to a now-disqualified Sena corporator Simantini Narkar.

Meanwhile, MNS has been successful in bringing back Chetan Kadam in its fold. Kadam is a relative of leader of opposition in legislative assembly Ramdas Kadam. He was one of the prominent workers who joined Sena last Wednesday.

Kadam has reportedly alleged that Ramdas Kadam did not give any idea about his induction in the party and drove him down to Sena Bhavan for the induction ceremony. Saying that it was embarrassing for him and the party, Kadam has reportedly apologised MNS president Raj Thackeray for the entire episode.

So, far many key MNS leaders like Raja Chougule, Naresh Mhase, Ashish Kulkarni, Harish Worlikar, Jitendra Janawale, Shridhar Jagtap and Kishore Dange have deserted the party.
