LONDON: If he thought it was a good idea to grab an extra few minutes in bed on Thursday, Prince Harry was put right by his girlfriend Chelsy Davy.

The 22-year-old got an ear-bashing from Davy for making her wait at the Heathrow airport for nearly an hour, 'The Daily Telegraph' reported here on Friday, quoting sources.

The Zimbabwean blonde was amused after arriving at the airport at 6.30 am on Thursday on an 11-hour night flight from Johannesburg to find the Prince was not there.

Sipping a cup of hot coffee at a cafe, the 21-year-old tried calling Harry but he had either overslept or forgotten, the sources claimed. The couple had not seen each other since their holiday in Botswana more than a month ago.

"When Harry finally arrived, she had a face like thunder. You could say she was not pleased at being left waiting around. He looked like he had just got out of bed. He got to the airport at around 7.30 am," one of the travellers was quoted as saying.

However, the Prince, who arrived flanked by royal protection officers, quickly took her away and they kissed and made up by the time they left the airport.

Davy, who had to have an emergency appendix operation in Cape Town last month, is set to spend 10 days with Harry before starting a post-graduate degree course in politics at Leeds University.

There have been conflicting reports over the summer that the couple, who have been together for three years, had either split up or secretly got engaged.

Last week, Prince Harry won plaudits for his emotional tribute to Princess Diana, when he called her the 'best mother in the world' at the memorial service to mark the tenth death anniversary of the Princess of Wales.
