FARRUKHABAD: The Congress said that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati's recent outbursts against the Centre for allegedly not responding to a special economic for the state as part of electoral strategy, has not created a crisis for the UPA governemnt.

There is no crisis for the UPA government owing to Mayawati's changed attitude....As the Congress candidate here is in direct fight with the Bahujan Samaj Party nominee it is only natural that their leaders will attack the Centre's policies, senior congress leader and Union Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal said while addresing an election rally here on Monday evening.

The UP chief minister's statement could also be a part of electoral strategy, he said.

He denied that there was any political bitterness among the Congress and the BSP leaders.

Referring to Mayawati's allegation that the Centre had not responded to her demand for a special package, Jaiswal said that it was the job of the Planning Commission and not of the Centre.
