AHMEDABAD: In a clear message meant for the threatened BJP government in Gujarat, Congress media in-charge of Gujarat, Science and technology minister Kapil Sibal said that the party appreciated the rebel BJP MLAs’ courage and efforts in highlighting the ill-doings of the Modi government. Sibal said Congress was open to anyone who was fighting for justice.
“We’re working out modalities. It’s too soon to say and we don’t want to make any commitments,” he said when asked about the progress on the negotiations of the seven suspended BJP MLAs joining Congress.
Seven BJP MLAs were suspended earlier this year for anti-party activities. These ambitious politicians are believed to be negotiating hard with the Congress to get an Assembly ticket to contest the coming polls.
Besides farmers’ issues and the failure of the BJP’s rural promises, Sibal said the Congress will campaign in urban areas on false investment claims that are being made by the government.
