Paresh Rawal approaches police for probe into land fraud

SURAT: Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal has accused a builder of committing a fraud involving a property registered in the name of his mother.

Rawal, who was in the city for a stage performance, met the Police Commissioner R M S Brar on Saturday and handed him an application pertaining to the land deal.

According to the application, Dahyalal Rawal, the actor's father, had purchased 1,200 square yard of land from a land developer Jayenti Mandlewala in 1972 at Abhwa village in Umra area of Surat, police said.

The documents of the plot were prepared in the name of Rawal's mother Dhanlaxmiben.

The land, which was bought at the price of Rs 10,000 at that time, has been re-sold by the developer in crores, the application said.

Rawal has submitted copy of land documents along with the application, police said adding that they will probe into the matter.
