BEST traffic manager suspended for sexual harassment

Chief Traffic Manager of BEST, VY Amdekar has been suspended on charges of sexual harassment and high-handed administration. The officer is now facing departmental enquiry.

The suspension letter, issued on July 30 states that Amdekar put pressure on the enquiry official in a case in 2004. “This is serious misconduct and against justice. The sexual harassment charges against Amdekar are being taken more seriously and have led to his suspension,” the letter stated.

Amdekar, however, said that he was being targeted by the administration. “I have submitted my resignation which will come before the BEST committee, the deciding authority, soon,” he said.
