Youth kills friend in fit of rage

NEW DELHI: A man allegedly stabbed his 20-year-old friend to death after he made some insinuating remarks about him on Thursday, police said.

Twenty-year-old Rohit, a casual labourer employed with Sulab Complex near AIIMS in south Delhi, was stabbed to death allegedly by a co-worker after they entered into an argumentnear Sanwal Nagar, they said.

Rohit and Rakesh had come to the area along with one Pramod to attend a party at the residence of their common friend.

All of them consumed alcohol heavily and were returning back home on foot when the incident took place.

Rakesh and Rohit entered into an argument over some petty issues and in a fit of rage the former took his knife and allegedly stabbed his friend to death, police said.

Pramod then rushed to their friend's place to inform them about the incidence and took Rohit to AIIMS where he succumbed to injuries.

Police conducted raids in areas like Sanwal Nagar, AIIMS and Sadiq Nagar after Pramod told investigators that Rakesh might not have gone far as he has not much money with him.

Subsequently, he was arrested from Vivekananda Park near Andrews Ganj in south Delhi.

During interrogation, police claimed, Rakesh told interrogators that he committed the crime in a fit of rage after Rohit made "some insulting" comments about him.
