PM pays a courtesy call on Shekawat

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday paid a courtesy call on outgoing Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekawat, who resigned on Saturday after his defeat in the Presidential elections.

Singh visited Maulana Azad road residence and was with him for about 20 minutes.

Shekawat submitted his resignation to President A P J Abdul Kalam shortly after he lost to Pratibha Patil in the Presidential elections on Saturday.
