Sensex ends marginally up on late buying

The BSE-30 share index, which lost nearly 117 points during the day, picked up to end with a gain of 11.35 points at 15,301.17.

MUMBAI: The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex gained over 11 points on Wednesday on emergence of late buying by funds in heavy-weight stocks led by information technology segment.

The BSE-30 share index, which lost nearly 117 points during the day, picked up to end with a gain of 11.35 points at 15,301.17.

The second wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty was also up by 2.80 points at 4,499.55, after touching a low of 4,452.85 and high of 4,510.80 points during the day.

The rally was led by information technology stocks which were later joined by metal segment majors like Tata Steel and SAIL.
