BANGALORE: The police team probing the Bangalore link of the UK terror plot has begun scrutinizing the e-mail, Internet chats and other communication modes of three suspects -- Sabeel, Kafeel and Mohammed Haneef.

The team, which was working in close co-ordination with other investigating agencies, including the IB (Intelligence Bureau) had begun questioning the immediate circle of friends who had been touch with the trio, as well as their relatives and those with whom the suspects regularly interacted, a senior official, who refused to be named, told.

All the e-mails, mobile communication and other available evidence was being scrutinised to collect information about the activities of the suspects, as well as to probe whether they were involved in any subversive activities during their stay in the city.

"We are trying to fit the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle together. But it might take at least a week before we get all the pieces together and try to find out whether there is some conclusive outcome", he said.

Reacting to media reports that Kafeel had held a protest meeting in remembrance of the Muslims, he said that the police had no prior information on the matter. "We are investigating whether any such meeting ever took place and who the participants were if it did take place".

The investigating teams would be quizzing all those associated with the suspects before they arrive at any conclusion, he added.
