Efforts on to rescue six-yr-old boy from borewell

Army and civil administration have escalated the efforts to rescue the six-year-old boy who fell into a 150 ft deep borewell on Wednesday, as prayers are also being offered at several places for his safety and well being.

JAIPUR: Army and civil administration have escalated the efforts to rescue the six-year-old boy who fell into a 150 ft deep borewell on Wednesday, as prayers are also being offered at several places for his safety and well being.

Taking all precautions, a parallel pit is being dug up to reach to Suraj Banjara who fell into the deep borewell in Neemda village, 35 kms from here, around 4.00 pm on Wednesday, sources said.

Army and administration are jointly working to rescue the boy, whose voice could be heard from inside the borewell. His mother has been admitted to a hospital after she became unconscious hearing the cries of the child.

To maintain adequate oxygen supply for Suraj, oxygen is being pumped into the borewell and proper electricity arrangements has also been made at the site, a senior police official said.

Meanwhile, the Education Minister Ghanshyam Tiwari and Irrigation Minister Sanwarmal Jat are present at the site to oversee the rescue operation.

Tiwari said that two more machines have been requisitioned to accelerate the digging operation.
