Bosses at Madame Tussauds have dismissed accusations that they’ve prematurely aged their new Daniel Radcliffe waxwork to save re-doing it in a few years.

The 17-year-old became the youngest ever star to be immortalised in wax at the London landmark on Monday, but critics have questioned why the youthful Harry Potter actor is depicted in a conservative suit and tie and sporting stubble on his face.

However, a spokesman for Madame Tussauds insists their statue is a fair reflection of the subject. He says, “Our sculptors use a lot of photographic references. It is accurate.”
