The man, identified only as Arumugam, fled the Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) on Monday, where he was admitted after found lying unconscious and bleeding in a Manama street on June 18, 'Gulf Daily News' reported.

"He regained consciousness after surgery, but could only remember his name, his wife's name, where he comes from and that he is a carpenter," a nurse of the hospital said.

"We were going to take him from the hospital to the police station, but when we went to his bed, he was gone. We don't know 100 percent, but we think he ran away from his sponsor and that's why he escaped from the hospital," the nurse said.
