Man commits suicide suspecting wife of infidelity

NEW DELHI: A young auto rickshaw driver allegedly committed suicide here suspecting his wife of two months of infidelity, police said Monday.

Deehraj, who resides in Mangolpuri area of northwest Delhi, was brought dead to the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital nearby early on Monday.

He had been married to Poonam two months ago. The couple had a heated exchange over her illicit relations on Saturday after which the wife went away to her parent's house in a nearby colony. When she returned on Monday she found him hanging. She brought down the body with the help of neighbours.

However, Deehraj's parents allege that Poonam had murdered their son after he came to know about her extra-martial affair.

"We have registered a case and investigations are on," a police official said.
