Rape case against youth following complaint

MUMBAI: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a person at Nagpada in Mumbai on Wednesday.

Police said on Thursday that the girl, hailing from Karnataka, had come to Mumbai, along with a friend, on June 19 to meet her aunty.

However, the relative herself had forced the girl to go with a person by name Mohammed Jamshad Rasul Jamir Ansari (21).

Late last evening, the police sighted the girl and the youth and finding their manner suspicious, picked them up for questioning.

The girl related her story following which the police have registered a case of rape against the youth.
