RAJKOT: Chief Minister Narendra Modi today accused the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre of pursuing "anti-Gujarat" policy and "playing" with the rights of farmers of the state.

"Farmers of the state have become wealthy after successful implementation of the `Jyotigram Yojna' under the five-year BJP rule in Gujarat", Modi, who was in Gondal to attend Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee's (APMC) golden jubilee function, said addressing a large number of farmers.

However, Congress could not digest the state's progress and diverted its 200MW electricity to other Congress-ruled states, thereby affecting interests of the farming community of the state, he charged.

Gujarat Congress is trying to attract farmers before the coming state Assembly elections by organising Gandhi Sandesh Yatra and Farmers Message Yatra in which Congress President Sonia Gandhi was invited at Porbander and Mehsana.

Modi said if Congress wants to do something for farmers seriously then it should try to bring the diverted 200MW of electricity back to Gujarat instead of inviting Gandhi to the state.
