RCom adds 1.4 mn mobile users in May

NEW DELHI: Anil Dhirubai Ambani group (ADAG) company's Reliance Communications today said it has added 1.4 million mobile subscribers during the month of May, a growth of 40 per cent over the previous month.
    
RCom's subscriber base now stands at about 32 million.
    
The company had recently announced various attractive offers for the consumers, including launch of monochrome handset at Rs 777, colour phone at Rs 1234 and the reduction in roaming tariffs among others.
    
"The tremendous response to the initiatives by the company has been the prime drivers for 40 per cent growth in subscriber's additions," Reliance Communications President Personal Business S P Shukla said in a statement.
    
RCom had also slashed the price of its lifetime validity card by 50 per cent to Rs 499 besides reducing call rates to the US and Canada at Rs 1.75 per minute on Reliance Global Calling card.
