JAIPUR: A three-year-old child fell into a 200-feet deep and 10-inches wide borewell in Rajasthan's Ranapada village on Tuesday even as rescuers were carrying on their operations, police said.

"Though the chances of rescuing Sunil are grim as the breadth of the borewell is just 10 inches and 200 feet deep, yet all efforts are being made to bring him out," Dausa SP T Ramji said.

"We are also taking expert opinion from PHED engineers and seeking help from the army as this case is quite similar to that of Prince who fell into a borewell in Haryana and a parallel borewell had to be dug to rescue him," Ramji said.

"Since the breadth of the borewell is just 10 inches, no diver can get into it," he said.

Ramji said three different teams comprising doctors, divers and police rushed to the spot after Sunil's father Pisraram Saini had called up the police control room at around 6.45 pm saying his son fell into the borewell in Dausa, about 120 km from here.
