3i sets up development centre in Chennai

NEW DELHI: IT solutions and software provider 3i Infotech on Monday announced the launch of a new Global Development Centre (GDC) in Chennai.

The centre will focus on enhancement and development of the company's flagship insurance solution 'Premia' and banking solution 'Kastle'.

"Chennai has been an important hub for us, both as a market and a development centre and we hope to leverage the city's talent pool and technical capabilities to grow our operations here," 3i Infotech Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director V Srinivasan said.

He said while the company will also focus heavily on organic growth through the enhancement of the existing line of product offerings and customer acquisitions.

Annually 3i invests about 4-5 per cent of revenues in its research operations across Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kochi and Hyderabad, a company statement said.
