Indian woman in NY gets jail term for murder

NEW YORK: An Indian woman was sentenced to 15 years in jail after she was found guilty of murdering a fellow Indian in the US. 

Rupal Patel of Akron, Ohio, pleaded guilty to one count of murder on Monday. The 32-year-old admitted to murdering 28-year-old Sejal Patel.

Sejal's body was found in an abandoned van in the parking lot of the Chrysler stamping plant in 2005.

Rupal is not a US citizen and may even face deportation, 'WKYC-TV 3' reported.

Another accused in the case, 35-year-old Vijay Patel of Pennsylvania, is scheduled to go on trial next month.
