HYDERABAD: Top Gujarat CID officer Geeta Johri, heading the probe into fake encounter killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, was understood to have questioned three Andhra Pradesh police officials on Saturday about the state police's role in the operation in November 2005.

Johri is in the city since May 9 to find out whether Andhra Pradesh police had provided any assistance to their Gujarat counterparts in tracing Sheikh who was killed in a stage-managed shootout on November 26, 2005 near Ahmedabad.

The Gujarat IGP met an IPS officer, who had worked in Task Force department during 2005, and two other lower rank officials at Police Officer's Mess here, police sources said.

She questioned them about Andhra police's support to their Gujarat counterparts in the encounter, they said.

During her three-day stay, Johri has met state police chief MA Basith, CRPF DIG E Radhakrishna and Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rajiv Trevedi.
