Second India-Bangladesh ODI: Statistical highlights

DHAKA: Statistical highlights of second cricket one-dayer between India and Bangladesh here on Saturday.

India's 46-run triumph is their 15th against Bangladesh in ODIs.

India registered their second series win against Bangladesh in ODIs - their first being by 2-1 in Bangladesh in 2004-05.

India, for the first time, have won two successive games against Bangladesh in a bilateral series in Bangladesh. They had won by 5 wickets at Mirpur on 10.5.2007.

Under Rahul Dravid's captaincy, India registered their 35th win in 67 games (28 lost, 4 NR).

India's total of 284 for eight is now the highest ever by any team at Mirpur, obliterating the 278 for six by Bangladesh against Scotland on 17.12.2006.

India's aforesaid total is their highest ever at Mirpur, improving on their 251 for 5 on 10.5.2007.

India (284-8) registered their second best total against Bangladesh in ODIs, next only to their 348 for 5 at Dhaka on 27.12.2004.

Gautam Gambhir (101 off 113 balls) posted his second century in ODIs.  His career-best is 103 off 97 balls against Sri Lanka at Motera, Ahmedabad on 6.11.2005.

Gambhir became the fourth Indian batsman to post a hundred against Bangladesh, joining Sourav Ganguly (135 not out at Dhaka on 30.5.2000); Navjot Singh Sidhu (104 not out at Chandigarh on 25.12.1990) and Yuvraj Singh (102 not out at
Dhaka on 11.4.2003).

Gambhir is now the first batsman to makr a hundred at Mirpur, eclipsing the previous highest of 91 not out by Mahendera Singh Dhoni for India against Bangladesh on 10.5.2007.

Gambhir got his second Man of the Match award in ODIs. He had received his first against Bangladesh for scoring 71 off 89 balls at Dhaka on 16.4.2003.

Mohammad Rafique (3/59) recorded his best figures against India in Bangladesh. His best against India are 3 for 35 at Port of Spain on 17.3.2007.

Syed Rasel (2/49) produced his best figures against India.

Abdur Razzak (2/59) completed his 75 wickets in ODIs. He is the third bowler from Bangladesh to claim 75 wickets or more, joining Mohammad Rafique (119) and Mashrafe Mortaza (89).
