The newly appointed Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Tajendra Khanna has decided to go hi-tech in solving people’s problem. On Wednesday, the Lt. Gov’s office announced plans to set up a 24-hour call centre where anyone can make their complaint.

Khanna took over as Lt. Gov of Delhi on April 9 this year and his previous two year stint as the Delhi head was in 1997.

“People in the capital are facing so many problems and this is an effort to address their concerns,” said a senior official in the office of Lt. Gov.

The call centre has been named ‘Listening Post’ and all citizens could register complaints by dialling the telephone number 155355 from any landline or mobile phone. The citizens can also register their grievances concerning security, law and order, traffic violations, encroachment on government land, deficiency in civic services, violation of building bylaws.

A complaint registered here would not only be forwarded to the concerned department but the Lt. Gov’s office would also ensure that it is answered soon. “Once the complaint is answered, we will inform the citizen as soon as the remedial action is taken,” said the officer.

The grievance cell reception in addition to the darbar, which the Lt.Gov held earlier is an added arm to other departmental arrangements for disposal of public grievances.

The officer further emphasised that the people of Delhi should also come forward to give their feedback on three parameters: integrity, courtesy and efficiency in providing legitimate assistance by the concerned public servant.
