JAIPUR: In the midst of the raging row over fake encounter killings in Gujarat, a woman here on Friday alleged her husband was killed in a similar operation plotted by Rajasthan Police's Special Operation Group (crime) in Jaipur last year.

Sushila Devi said the state police has not yet lodged her FIR despite a court's order in connection with the killing of her husband Dara Singh.

"A Jaipur court has considered my information and asked the Mansarovar police station to lodge the FIR against the encounter in which my husband was shot down on October 23, 2006. But the FIR is still pending under pressure of a local BJP minister and a few police officials", Sushila, along with his brother-in-law Sheesh Ram, said.

She alleged the minister and the police officials had also tried to kill her husband earlier.

"The Additional DGP had declared a cash reward of Rs.25,000 on my husband's head but the advertisement was never published in the newspapers," she claimed, adding that out of 20 registered cases as per the police record her husband was acquitted in 11 and nine were pending in courts.

"As a matter of fact, there was no crime case against my husband after January 29, 2005," she claimed.
