Five boys sodomised in Delhi childcare centre

NEW DELHI: Five boys aged between six and eight were sodomised by a 50-year-old man at a childcare centre in west Delhi for the past few weeks. The revelation has shocked the capital.

Police said Bala, an employee of Devi Shiksha Kalyan Samiti, was sexually assaulting the boys for the past few weeks. The attacks came to light after one of the victims told his family about the incident.

“Bala is absconding, but he will be caught soon,” a police officer investigating the case said. Bala lives in the Rajouri Garden area of west Delhi. “We took the children for medical examination soon after receiving the complaint,” the officer said.

The centre is home to 28 children, who come from troubled families.

Psychologists said the boys should be taken for counselling. “They may suffer some disorder or experience extreme anger later in their lives,” said Aruna Bruta, a psychologist.
