Coins of all denomination acceptable: Govt

NEW DELHI: The government on Tuesday clarified that coins of all denomination including 25 paise are acceptable in the country.

"It is clarified that the government have not stopped circulation of any coin of any denomination and coins of all denomination should be accepted by all and sundry," an offcial release said.

"It has been brought to the notice of the Finance Ministry that certain organisations are not accepting coins of lower denominations such as 25 paise on the plea that the same are not in circulation any more," it added.
