Allow me to share some good news. Your newspaper DNA’s readership has reached 5.01 lakh a day in Mumbai, according to the authoritative Indian Readership Survey, 2007, Round 1. The rise in readership is over six months, from July 1 to December 31, 2006.

Our achievement is remarkable because it is a rise of 22.5% over the previous IRS figure, which gave us a tally of 4.09 lakh. DNA’s huge jump in readership — the highest among the city’s dailies — comes at a time when city newspapers that have been around for decades, one for over a century, have had drops in readership, as the survey shows.

We are a newcomer in Mumbai, having begun publication less than 20 months ago. The IRS survey has just confirmed our readers’ trust in us. It is a relationship we treasure.

We look forward to making our bonds even stronger in the months and years to come.
