World Cup betting racket busted

INDORE: Two persons have been arrested for allegedly operating a betting racket during the New Zealand-Kenya ICC World Cup Cricket match held on Tuesday night from a house in scheme 78 under the Lasudia police station here.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided the house and arrested Rajesh Mhow and Ganesh Singh alias Gajraj on Tuesday night, Crime Branch Deputy Suprintendent of Police Rajesh Vyas said.

Betting slips worth Rs3 lakh, mobile phones, a portable TV and Rs550 in cash were also seized by the police.
