MUMBAI: Race-horse owner Hasan Ali is likely to be issued notice to file tax returns for the past few years following Income Tax searches at his Pune residence which had
revealed undisclosed wealth and foreign bank accounts, a senior IT official said here on Monday.

"The next logical step would be to issue a notice to Hasan for filing income tax returns which would be pursued by the Assessment Department of the IT," the official said on
condition of anonymity.

Hasan had filed returns till around 1999 after which the details were not clear and being gathered by investigators, he said.

They were also assessing the seizures made during the raids on his residence and it would take some time before a clear picture about the amount involved emerges, he added.

The IT Department is in communication with various banks in which Hasan Ali had accounts but the official did not reveal which ones they were.

Kakde said Khan will "go public at a proper time" if the situation demanded.

"Khan is in Pune and extending full cooperation to the investigating agencies," he said.
