11 killed, one hurt in Nasihk accident

Eleven members of a family were killed when an LPG-cylinder carrying truck collided with car in which they were travelling in at Pathare-Shivar on the Sinnar-Shirdi road, 35 km from here, on Tuesday morning.

NASIHK: Eleven members of a family were killed when an LPG-cylinder carrying truck collided with car in which they were travelling in at Pathare-Shivar on the Sinnar-Shirdi road, 35 km from here, on Tuesday morning.

Another person was grievously injured in the accident.

All the dead belonged to a family from Bhiwandi and were on their way to the Sai Baba temple in Shirdi when their vehicle met with the accident.

Police have recovered two mobiles and diaries but have not been able to identify the victims.

The bodies were brought to Sinnar Government Hospital for post mortem, police said.

Nine of the 11 accident victims have been identified. Police gave their names as Renuka Satish Kura (20), her husband Satish Ramloo Kura (25), their two children, Dinesh and Ganesh, Parshuram Ramloo Kura (40), Mahesh Pamoo (20), Srinivas Pamoo, Krishkumar Swami Seera (18) and Satish Narayan Batati (12), residents of Ganesh Colony in Bhiwandi, about 100 km from Mumbai, but originally hailing from Andhra Pradesh.

The bodies were handed over to the relatives after post- mortem examination, police added.
