NEW DELHI: The UPA government is bracing up for a tumultuous budget session of Parliament commencing on Friday in the face of strained ties with SP, Left parties, blast in Samjhota Express, upcoming election in Uttar Pradesh and election results of Punjab, Uttaranchal and Manipur where the Congress is expected to do badly according to some pollsters.

The BJP-led Opposition, former supporter Samajwadi Party and even the Left parties are waiting to take on the Congress-led government on a variety of issues.

Now that elections in Uttar Pradesh have been announced, all parties especially those have high stakes in the state and those antagonistic to the Congress will play to the gallery highlighting the "failure" of the UPA government in bettering the lot of the "aam admi".
