MUMBAI: The Anti-Terrorist Squad of Maharashtra will dispatch a team to the site of the train blasts in Deewana, near Panipat, to study the nature and modus operandi of the terror strike, ATS chief K P Raghuvanshi said here on Monday.

Raghuvanshi, however, said that prima facie there appeared to be no similarity between the 7/11 serial blats in commuter trains that rocked Mumbai last year and the explosions in Samjhauta Express at Deewana on Sunday night.

"It appears that the blasts that took place there were not of high intensity explosives. However, we are sending a team there to study the case because we do have a lot to learn from there," Raghuvanshi said.

The authorities here are on high alert following the blasts, he added.

A series of blasts had rocked the city on July 11 last year, killing more than 200 persons and injuring several.
