Monday became a little more manic as fog enveloped the city for the third consecutive day. Road and rail services were affected, however flight schedules remained undisturbed.

The runway visibility was 950 metres when the LVP was implemented and was terminated within two hours when the visibility increased. The visibility on road for commuters had dropped down to 100 metres, which caused severe inconvenience to the office crowd early morning. Traffic crawled at around ten to fifteen km an hour during this period. For police officials the fog meant serious business. "We increased patrolling on the roads and all patrolling vehicles had their floodlights on. Blinkers, light indicators and directions were alsoprovided," said a senior official.

Over a dozen long-distance trains, most of them New Delhi-bound, were also delayed by several hours.

Trains like the Mumbai Rajdhani Express, Patna Sampark Kranti Express, Farakka Express, Shiv Ganga Express and Purva Express were delayed by two to five hours.
