LONDON: There was no sign of evicted Celebrity Big Brother participant Jade Goody at her residence at Chipping Ongar, Essex, on Saturday.

Jade endorses a perfume brand Shh…, whose bottles are manufactured in Gujarat, India.

Reports said curtains were tightly drawn at the detached house in a quiet housing estate she shares with boyfriend Jack Tweed and two sons.

Jade was involved in a racism row with Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty in the reality show on Channel 4.

A woman from Ongar told BBC Radio Essex: “I think it has all been blown out of proportion.

“Jade is not a racist. She fell out with someone of a different race and she is called a racist. Everything has gone too politically correct.

“Some of the things she said were a bit near the knuckle but I do not think she meant any harm. She doesn’t think before she speaks.

“She has apologised. What more can she do?”

A Big Brother spokeswoman said that Friday night’s viewing figures peaked at 8.8 million for the second part, and eight million for the first.

Ulster branches of a major perfume outlet on Thursday night cleared shelves of Jade's scent following the row.

The Perfume Shop spokeswoman said that The Perfume Shop had withdrawn Jade's perfume from its 150 United Kingdom stores with immediate effect.
