UP government submits report on Nithari killings

LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh government has submitted a report on the Nithari serial killings to the National Human Rights Commission.

"The Commission has received a report from the state government. We shall see the report and take appropriate action," NHRC chairman V Shivraj Patil said on Saturday.

He said the Commission had taken suo motu cognizance of the incident and issued notices to the state chief secretary and director-general of police over alleged sexual abuse and murder of children in Nithari village in Noida.

The full commission is here at present to hear cases of human rights violations in the state.
