Flyington orders Airbus freighters

BANGALORE: After Blue Dart and First Flight, Hyderabad-based Flyington Freighters is set to become the third Indian cargo company to own its cargo planes.

The company has announced plans to acquire six Airbus A330-200F
cargo planes at a list price of around Rs 4,450 crore ($990 million).

Deliveries of the new generation mid-sized, long-haul cargo aircraft with a capacity of 64 metric tonnes will begin from the second half of 2009.

T Venkattram Reddy, chairman, Flyington, said, “We ordered them because we see significant operational benefits and suits our business model. The aircraft offers us several economic advantages.”
