NEW DELHI: Dabur India is witnessing some top-level changes. Over the past few weeks, the company has recast its organisational structure to provide greater emphasis to its FMCG business; the head of the ayurveda business has quit.

Two years ago, Dabur hired Nitin Ghadiyar from Johnson & Johnson as executive director to head its newly created healthcare division — in a bid to enhance focus on the age-old ayurveda business. Ghadiyar put in his papers a few weeks ago.

And while no one has been immediately appointed to head the healthcare division, Devinder Garg, executive V-P, marketing, customer care, has been asked to move to healthcare from April 1, 2007.

However, there has been no fresh appointment for the position of executive V-P, marketing, that Garg will be vacating in April.

Vikas Mittal has been brought in from Dutch company Friesland Foods as vice-president, marketing, responsible for the personal care business which includes hair, skin and baby care products.

The other three sub-groups within the customer care segment — home care, health care and south marketing — will continue to function as earlier.
