A day after Olio Miranda (84) was killed at her Bandra residence, the police said they have picked up some leads from the murder spot. Two finger prints found on a plastic box in Miranda’s house could be of the murderers, the police said. No one has been arrested yet.

According to the police, the incident would have taken place between 6.45 pm on Friday and 11 am on Saturday.

“We have spotted a broken latch in the entrance of the house, which suggests that the robbers must have entered in the house by breaking it. They would have killed Miranda so that she would not create any problem for them. After which they have started searching for valuables in the house,” said police inspector Dipak Kathkade.

Inspector Kathkade said the police got two finger impressions from a plastic box containing cosmetic goods.

“Nothing was found missing, though things were found scattered in the house. We will show finger prints to the experts and tally with the wanted criminals,” he said.

The police are now awaiting Carol D’silva ,55, daughter of Miranda to arrive from London and throw some light on the case.

“A property dispute does not seem to be the motive behind the murder. We have questioned all relatives and concerned persons regarding the case. We believe the daughter could give more information in the case,” said a police officer.

Miranda was found strangulated with a mosquito net with her hands and legs tied with a sweater at her bungalow at Chimbai Village in Bandra (West) on Saturday.
