HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday rejected an application moved by Monica Bedi, companion of gangster Abu Salem, for suspension of the judgement of a CBI court giving five years imprisonment in a fake passport case.

Rejecting Bedi's application, Justice B Gopal Krishna observed that her counsel had raised contitutional questions such as valacity of her prosecution by city criminal court after her conviction by a Portugese court on same charges.

Krishna said these issues can be raised at the time of final hearing of the appeal against the CBI court judgement. The appeal will come up for final hearing on December 27. Bedi was convicted by CBI court here and sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment on September 29.

Later, she filed an application in the High Court seeking suspension of the judgement of the CBI court.
