NEW DELHI: Upset with Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee over his style of running the House, the main Opposition BJP said it would make a decision about ending or continuing its boycott of his meetings with political parties after his statement on Tuesday.

Deputy leader of the Lok Sabha Vijay Kumar Malhotra said after a meeting of the BJP's  parliamentary party that discussions would be held with allies also before arriving at a decision.

A row erupted between the Speaker and the BJP as he refused the main Opposition party permission to raise its objections in the House over arrest of its chief Rajnath Singh in Singur last week.

The BJP has its objections over his allowing house business amid commotion.

Leaders of the NDA held a couple of meetings with him last week, but the discussions remained inconclusive.

On Monday, opposition leaders met the Speaker briefly after he asked them to explain their House plans in the light of protests over Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's minority remarks, which led to adjournment.
