A 19-year-old engineering student died on Thursday after he shot himself using his father's licensed revolver in Noida, a suburban town of New Delhi, police said.

NOIDA: A 19-year-old engineering student died on Thursday after he shot himself using his father's licensed revolver in Noida, a suburban town of New Delhi, police said.

Aditya Garg, a first-year student of the JSS Academy of Technical Education in Sector 62, Noida, was staying with his father AK Garg, a general manager in the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, police said.

"He was depressed after his mother died two years ago. He has blamed nobody for this act in his suicide note," said Rajesh Kumar Singh Rathore, senior superintendent of police.
