NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Thursday adjourned the hearing on the quantum of sentence to be awarded to former Union Minister Shibu Soren and four others in the Shashi Nath Jha murder case till Friday.

The former Union Minister will have to spend a couple of days more at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment of his heart ailment.

"Soren is undergoing medical tests for a heart ailment. It will take at least another two days for completion," AIIMS spokesperson Dr Shakti Gupta said.

Soren, convicted for murder of his former private secretary Shashi Nath Jha, was brought to AIIMS from Tihar Jail late Tuesday night.

He is admitted to the Coronary Care Unit of the AIIMS after he complained of chest pain at Tihar.

Soren was supposed to be present in the court of Additional Sessions Judge B R Kedia, who was to hear the arguments on the quantum of punishment to be awarded to JMM Chief and four others in the murder case of his private secretary.

"It is not possible for Soren to leave the hospital as he is undergoing medical tests," Gupta said.
