Former international umpire faces sex charge

A former international cricket umpire will appear on Friday in a Brisbane court on 12 child sex charges.

MELBOURNE: A former international cricket umpire will appear on Friday in a Brisbane court on 12 child sex charges.
 
The former umpire, 55, is alleged to have indecently assaulted the four complainants between 1974 and 1998, a report in The Age quoted the police.
 
The offences against the two 14-year-old males are alleged to have occurred in 1974 and the two 16-year-old females in 1983 and 1998.
 
In relation to one 14-year-old, the man has been charged with five counts of indecent assault on a male under 14 and four sodomy offences.
 
The accused, who cannot be named under Queensland law, has been charged with one count of indecent assault against the other 14-year-old boy.
 
He has been charged with one count each of indecent assault on a female in the cases related to both 16-year-old girls.
 
He will appear in the Brisbane Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
