Pranab to meet Kasuri in Delhi on Nov 27

NEW DELHI: External affairs minister Pranab Mukherjee and his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri are likely to meet informally over a cup of tea on November 27. Kasuri will be in the Capital to attend the wedding of his classmate Mani Shankar Aiyer’s daughter.

This will be the first interaction between the two, since Pranab Mukherjee took over as external affairs minister.

Though both sides have formally refused to say anything about the meeting, MEA sources indicated that a meeting will indeed take place at an informal level.

“It would be highly amiss if the visiting foreign minister and his counterpart do not even meet for a cup of tea,” said a senior functionary in the ministry.
