Hizbul militant killed in encounter in Doda

JAMMU: Security forces on Monday gunned down a militant of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, police sources said.

Security forces, on specific information, launched an operation in Chatroo area of Doda district, they said adding that in the subsequent encounter one militant identified as Basharat was killed.

The body of the militant could not be retrieved from the site of the encounter though search operation is on in the area, they said and added one AK-47 rifle alongwith one magazine and 16 rounds were recovered from the place.

Meanwhile, unidentified militants set ablaze the house of one Noor Jamal in Lancha area of Gool tehsil in Udhampur district during the intervening night of November 4 and 5, they said.
