BANGALORE: Indian cricket team's physical trainer Gregory Allan King has been cleared of dengue and would be able to return to his work sooner than later, the doctor attending to him at Wockhardt Hospitals has said.

King tested positive for dengue fever while he was with the Indian team in Ahmedabad and was flown in here late Friday night with complaints of breathlessness and chest uneasiness.

Consultant Chest Physician K Satish, who is treating 33-year old King at the hospital, said the fever that latter was suffering from was "not dengue related."

"A positive test does not mean it is dengue. Like in the case of hepatitis, the symptom might disappear after some time on its own," Satish said.

The physician said King was suffering from chest infection and pneumonia according to preliminary tests, but has "recovered well".

He said the condition of King was "stable" and he was recovering well on the antibiotic regime that was being administered to him.

"We expect him to be discharged from the hospital early next week and hope that he would be in a position to join the Indian cricket team soon," Satish said.
