Venezuela and Guatemala recommended Bolivia and Costa Rica, respectively, as alternate candidates for the UN Security Council.

CARACAS: Venezuela and Guatemala recommended Bolivia and Costa Rica, respectively, as alternate candidates for the UN Security Council, high-level Venezuelan officials said on Wednesday, after the United Nations deadlocked over a choice between them.
"Guatemala has recommended Costa Rica and we suggest Bolivia to represent Latin America and the Caribbean, Venezuela's UN ambassador, Francisco Arias Cardenas, told a local radio station.
