Adam Bidapa released on bail

The son of leading fashion choreographer Prasad Bidapa, was on Saturday released on bail by a city court on furnishing a personal bond of Rs 20,000.

BANGALORE: Adam Bidapa, son of leading fashion choreographer Prasad Bidapa, arrested for allegedly abusing police personnel, was on Saturday released on bail by a city court on furnishing a personal bond of Rs 20,000.

Adam also deposited Rs one lakh in lieu of court stipulation that the amount had to be deposited in the event of his travelling abroad.

He has been asked by the court to report to the city police station on the 15th and 30th of every month.

The 11th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Basavaraj Chega Reddy, before whom the matter came up, posted the case for November 3.

Counsel M T Nanaiah said an anticipatory bail application for Judith Bidapa, wife of Prasad, against whom an arrest warrant on charges of obstructing a public servant discharge his duties, is likely to be filed on October 25.

Adam Bidapa who was in an inebriated state at a pub abused policemen who raided it on Thursday for remaining open at midnight in violation of excise and police rules, police said.

Prasad Bidapa claimed that Judith, who had accompanied him to the Ashok Nagar police station where Adam was whisked away, had accidentally hit a police officer who lost his balance and fell, fracturing his thumb.
