Punjabi pop singer Gursewak Mann was arrested here on Tuesday after a girl alleged he held her as his friend photographed her with a mobile phone outside the women's toilet in a hotel.

Hours after his arrest, a court granted bail to Mann, who along with his friend was booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code related to outraging the modesty of a woman. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate A D Gaur accepted the singer's bail plea.
Police officials said Mann was arrested after he surrendered to Inspector Surjeet Singh of the criminal investigation agency, which is probing the matter. The identity of Mann's friend is not known and he is yet to be traced by police.
Following the complaint against the singer by Neha Thakur, a resident of Himachal Pradesh attending coaching classes for the Indian Administrative Service in Chandigarh, police went to Mann's home at Mohali in Punjab on Monday but found it locked.
Mann's counsel said there was some confusion as to whether the offence under Section 354 of CrPC was bailable.
"There has been an amendment in CrPC. In some states like Andhra Pradesh and Orissa it is non-bailable, but it is a bailable offence in Haryana," he said.
The singer refuted the charges levelled against him and his friend by Thakur, but she stood by her statement that Mann's friend photographed her with the mobile phone.
Thakur alleged that when she was coming out of the toilet on Sunday, Mann's friend took photos with the mobile phone. When she objected, the duo had a scuffle with her.
Mann, however, told police his friend was photographing him in the corridor where the toilet is located. He told police that the toilet's door was open at the time.
