NEW DELHI: The capital's cops went into a tizzy on Sunday morning for over six hours after a bull went berserk on being reportedly shooed away by overzealous security personnel manning the Mahadev Road through which the prime minister and his entourage were to pass through.

The ordeal ended only after the exasperated cops sought the help of the New Delhi Municipal Corporation staff to tranquilise the bovine, but not before the marauding bull left six persons injured, albeit with minor wounds.

It all began around 9.30 am when some security personnel spotted the bull proceeding from Mandir Marg towards Mahadev Road and tried to shoo the animal away.

But the bull which until then apparently seemed to be enjoying its Sunday morning stroll went berserk through Connaught Place, Gole Market, the Young Women’s Christian Association hostel and finally holed up at the Members of Parliament flats near Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
